  1. Phil Merkle suggested I contact you about book options for Omega, Alpha, and Odysseus Wept.

I enjoyed this series in the ’70s as a kid, like so many other fans. I have been reading all of the books by Tubb and Rankin. I am on the last book, The Edge of Infinity. I found a site that has all of the books online. I did buy all the paperbacks to read, but ended up using the ebooks. If you want them, I would be happy to send them to you.

I would love to know how to get any of your books since they are no longer in print. I am curious as to how you write year three. I have always thought it was sad that we never had more of a story for the series.

    1. Hey, Ashley — are you new to the Powys books in general? You can still get Space: 1999 Resurrection on Amazon.com (we never did ebooks because of contractual issues, but you can still get the physical book). That’s probably a good place to start, since that’s where the Powys books series begins (but it’s a Year One story, a sequel to End of Eternity). If you like that one, I can see about helping you find some of the other books in the series.

  2. Bill,

I recently purchased a new Resurrection book. I have not been able to find other Pwys Media books online.

I enjoyed the series as a kid and still do as an adult. I like to see how others have continued the series and where the characters go after season 2. Unfortunately, your books are no longer in circulation. I did find one of your books in a library in Cincinnati, which I may ask my cousin’s child to check out for me.

The 50 year anniversary was fun to watch unfold on Facebook. Thanks for keeping the story alive. I will search for your books every so often and see what pops up. Maybe I will get lucky one day.

  3. Mr. Latham,

I am in the same boat as Ms. Nelson above. I have been trying to track down three of the books including Alpha and Omega that you wrote and wondered if you had any ideas on how to find them. Phil Merkel suggested I reach out to you. I appreciate you time in this matter.

    1. Hey, Derek — wish I had a stockpile of the Powys books but unfortunately I don’t. I know Phil’s got some, so he’s probably still a good resource.

I think at this point, it’s time for interested folks to start lobbying Jamie Anderson and crew to talk to our representatives about getting the books out again, or at least letting someone else have the reprint license. I’m not seeing people selling the books on ebay as I would have expected.

Sometimes I think of just hosting a weekly zoom and reading them out loud for anybody who’s interested.

      1. The readings sound wonderful. Phil has been amazing and was able to help me find all but three of the books. I have at least been able to get my hands on the Compendium (again thanks to Phil) so I have a synopsis of Omega and Alpha. I just would love to read it. I think the main problem is a lot of the later books were print on demand and there just aren’t a lot of copies in circulation for Ebay to have them. I appreciate you getting back to me. Lobbying for a rerelease also sounds good.

        Thanks for your help,

        Derek
